Just two more AAA Colourful DT to introduce and we're done!

Maggie

Hi! I’m Maggie, and I’ve been card making in the Chicago suburbs for over 20 years. My day job as a high school social studies teacher takes up a lot of my bandwidth during the day, and it’s a nice retreat to come home and crank out a card when I’m not taking my two hound dogs for a walk with my husband, or plotting our next national park hiking adventure. I’m happy to be here to help bring some colorful inspiration to the card making community.

Nancy

My Mom was a "jack of all trades" when it came to crafting... she always had her hands busy with something.  In the fall of 1996 she told me she found a new craft she wanted me to see and honestly, I rolled my eyes... she showed me this small collection of stamps and ink but what got me hooked was the magic of heat embossing.  Mom passed away in 2010 but her crafty genes lives on.  I live in Western Canada with my husband and two sons as well as our cat and two dogs.  When I'm not at my full time job, you'll find me in my craft room, in front of the TV or reading a book.

Well that's all the DT introductions done and dusted. So what next?

Well on the 11th there will be a share of a little project which may just hint at the colours for our first challenge on 15th February.

Hanneke

Hi! I'm Hanneke. I live in New York with my husband and two kids. An electrical engineer by training, I now tutor students in math.  Crafting has been a life-long passion and I love learning new things. I like everything just so, and if I can't find it in the store, I try to make it myself.  And yes... that frequently lands me in trouble with too much to do and not enough time to do it.  Like Christine, I got started with cards by creating invitations to my kids' birthday parties, but I really became hooked when my friend hosted a card-making party and opened my world to all the tools of the trade.

Jane D

Hi, I'm Jane, also known as Jane D. I'm a photo and paper loving nurse, wife, mother of four and grandmother to six, living in the south of Sweden. 
When I'm not working, sailing, reading a book or spending time with family and friends you'll find me in my craftroom making cards, ATCs, tags, pocket page albums and the odd scrapbook layout. I love to learn, and to try different styles and new techniques, and I love colour(!) so hopefully I can help spread a little colourful inspiration.

Hi, I’m Diane. I live in Montreal, Canada with my husband and daughter.  I have been crafty since before being crafty was cool. I come from a line of creative women, starting with my seamstress grandmother, and my talented knitting mother, who both passed along their love for creating. I have been making cards for approximately 10 years, but before that I was getting a diploma in haute couture sewing, just for fun, and beading, knitting, embroidering, painting, you get the picture. Even before that I can remember making my own birthday party invitations as a child, no store bought invites for this crafter. I am a maximalist card maker who loves colour. I hope you enjoy my creations.

I am an IT engineer and a passionate crafter. I Love to be creative in all walks of life and it's more than a hobby for me. I live in Sweden with my family ( my partner and a sweet little toddler). I am a social person, love to be around people, be out in nature and these days, for the most part, I just spend time with my baby as much as I can.

 Hello & welcome!

Are you ready to say hello to two more of the AAA Colourful DT?

First up we have Anne

Hi, I'm Anne - a 'kiwi' living in Australia, my day job is a web content publisher. I've done crafts most of my life - Mum always said I'm never happy unless I'm learning something new. I've been cardmaking since early 2021, but there are always new techniques and styles to learn, so I can't see me stopping any time soon. I also do cross-stitch and canvaswork, with the odd crochet or sewing session here and there, but cardmaking is my current love.

Hi, I'm Christine.  Since I was a kid I have always loved crafting.  My interest in scrapbooking started as I wanted to document the birth of my daughter and capture all of her milestones. Those milestones included her little brother and of course I needed to document his life too! 

 My passion for cardmaking began when my son turned two.  I needed his birthday party invitations to be exactly what I wanted, nothing less. I have not stopped making cards since.  I love a variety of styles and I am looking forward to getting colorful.

So excited to have these two talented ladies on board. You're going to be blown away by their creations!

Meet the DT

 Hello and welcome!

It won't be too long now before our first challenge begins on 15th February.

In the meantime let's get to know the DT.

Today it's the turn of the two founder members of AAA Challenges - Jane T and Maaike.

Jane T runs the AAA Birthday Challenge, a monthly birthday card only challenge, and Maaike runs AAA Cards, a fortnightly CAS only card challenge. Follow the links to check them out.

Jane T

I think there has never been a time when I haven't got some sort of craft on the go. I love to scrapbook, cross stitch, doodle, letter and create cards, atcs and pocket letters. I also love reading, jigsaws, knitting, crochet and putting my feet up in front of the TV.

I'm really excited to start this new craft challenge and am looking forward to connecting with crafter friends both old and new.

Maaike

I'm a cat mom of 3 and volunteer at the community centre 2 days a week, youtuber once in a while, crafter every day, gardener most days and cook when I'm hungry.

Come back again on 3rd for the next meet and greet of DT - maybe a face you'll know or maybe someone new. It's great to make friends.
